Rogue Amoeba on Tuesday announced the release of Audio Hijack Pro v2.8, an update to their audio capture utility for Mac OS X. A free update for registered version 2 users, Audio Hijack Pro costs $32.
Audio Hijack Pro enables you to record audio from any Mac OS X application. You can record sound bites from DVD player, or record Web-based audio streams, record iChat, Skype and Gizmo conversations, or import audio from records, cassette tapes and other analog sources.
The 2.8 update is fully compatible with Leopard, and includes Instant Hijack 2, which lets you hijack audio from apps that are already running on Tiger or Leopard. The System Audio Extra has been updated with Soundflower 1.3, more ID3 tags are supported, and bookmarkable recordings have also been made more reliable.
Audio Hijack Pro requires Mac OS X v10.4 or later. It’s a Universal binary.
