Jumsoft on Friday announced the release of Process 3.0, a major upgrade to its outlining software for Mac OS X. It costs $39. A demo is available for download.
Process provides a framework for getting things done. The software features brainstorming, organization, scheduling, planning, coordination and collaboration tools for doing just that, with an all-in-one-window interface. It features support for iCal synchronization, Spotlight, .Mac back and more.
New to Process 3.0 is a Shared Project capability that enables you to publish your Process outline with other users over a local network using Apple’s Bonjour zero-configuration technology. Anyone who can access the document can make changes that are instantly reflected to other users. You can also assign specific responsibilities to users using a pop-up menu.
Smart Projects are another new feature of Process 3.0. They take a page from Apple’s Smart Playlists function in iTunes. Based on your own defined search criteria, Smart Playlists will keep you up to date with what’s happening on various projects.
Process 3.0 also sports an integrated Notes pane that helps you expand project outline entries and export them into documents including RTF, OPML, HTML, TXT and OmniOutliner.
Process 3.0 requires Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard.” It’s a Universal binary.
