St. Clair Software has updated Default Folder, the company’s open and save dialog utility.
Default Folder 4.0.1 significantly improves speed and stability, especially for users of Mac OS X 10.4, according to the company. This release also adds in usability refinements in all areas, from tweaks in the translucent interface to ensuring that Default Folder X enables easy navigation with the keyboard.
Default Folder added other features like the ability to display the sidebar differently, making preview resizing smarter and more intuitive and fixing a problem with hierarchical folder menus not appearing in some situations.
Default Folder 4.0.1 is a free upgrade for existing users who purchased their copies on or after June 1, 2007. The upgrade is $14.95 for users who bought their licenses before that date.
