Gracion Software has announced the release of Enclose, an application designed to aid users who need to send files by e-mail without having to worry about hassles with file attachments. It costs $24 (after April 15, it will cost $34).
E-mail users often have difficult enclosing large file attachments with their messages; mail servers often reject the large enclosures. Enclose works around this shortcoming by storing the files on publicly available Web servers instead. It works with .Mac, and also supports FTP, AFP, SMB and WebDAV systems.
Enclose will perform automatic public key lookup and file encryption when used with PGP Desktop, features drag-and-drop upload and creation of download-link e-mails, sports iChat presence indicators, indexes messages via Spotlight, can use multiple servers automatically and has a setup assistant that discovers e-mail and server settings. It’s pre-configured to work straightaway with Gmail and .Mac accounts.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later and is a Universal binary.
