Steinberg has unveiled two new FireWire audio interfaces that feature integration with the company’s digital audio workstation, Cubase.
In addition to Cubase integration the MR816 CSX and MR816 X interfaces have eight discrete Class A analog ‘D-Pre’ mic preamps with combination XLR and TRS analog inputs with advanced new inverted Darlington circuits and switchable phantom power per channel.
The units also include up to eight simultaneous onboard DSP-powered Sweet Spot Morphing Channel Strips with compressor, EQ as well as REV-X reverb — they are available within Cubase during mixing.
MR816 CSX and MR816 X will be available from Q3 2008. Pricing has not yet been announced.
