Corsair on Thursday claimed that it’s offering the first high performance memory modules especially for the MacBook. The new 4GB kit costs $159.99 and works in newer MacBooks and MacBook Pros.
The modules comprising the VSA4GSDSKIT667C4 kit sport Serial Presence Detect (SPD) profile characteristics. That helps the laptops self-configure for optimal performance, claimed the company.
The new memory modules were benchmarked using Photoshop, Xbench, VMWare Fusion running Vista and Boot Camp running Vista, and were demonstrated to be up to 28 percent faster than standard Mac upgrade memory, said Corsair.
