BIAS is now shipping Peak Pro 6, a major new release of its pro audio editing, processing, mastering and delivery software. Peak Pro 6 costs $599.
Aimed at audio engineers, professional musicians, sound designers and other audio pros, Peak Pro 6 sports features including digital signal processing (DSP) tools, dithering for distortion-free bit reduction, batch processing, support for up to 32-bit/10MHz, including 24-bit/96kHz and 192kHz, optimization for multiprocessor/multicore computers, built-in support for Mac I/O and Core Audio hardware and more.
Peak Pro 6 touts a variety of new features like mastering and “classical editing” crossfade modes, new controls like pre/post roll audition, the ability to insert new event at play-head, voiceover ducking DSP, cache in RAM, new user interface, improvements to delivery tools, and the inclusion of the Peak Pro Production Pack, a collection of analysis, equalization, audio cleaning tools, sound effects and more (separately valued at $300).
System requirements call for a G4 400MHz or faster, Mac OS X v10.4.3 or later, 1024 x 768 display, 256MB RAM, 330MB hard disk space, QuickTime 6.0 or later.
