Apple has released iPod Reset Utility 1.0.3, an updated version of the tool used to reset iPod shuffles to their factory conditions. It’s available for download from Apple’s Web site.
The iPod Reset Utility can help restore the first- and second-generation iPod shuffle back to factory settings when it stops being recognized or stops working in iTunes. It will, however, completely erase the contents of those devices. It’s only designed to work with first- and second-generation iPod shuffle models.
Once reset, the utility installs iPod Software version 1.1.5 on first-generation iPod shuffles and iPod Software version 1.0.4 on second-generation iPods.
Apple did not provide details about what’s changed in this new release.
