Apple has posted a revised version of its MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update, to version 1.5.1. The software is available for download from Apple’s Web site.
The information posted to Apple’s Web site has not changed since the previous firmware update, which implies that this is simply a maintenance update to correct possible problems with the 1.5 update.
Once the update is applied, your MacBook Pro’s Boot ROM version will be listed as either MBP21.00A5.B08 or MBP31.0070.B07. If your MacBook Pro’s Boot ROM is already at that version, chances are you don’t need this update. You can check the Boot ROM version by running System Profiler and checking the Hardware Overview.
“This update fixes several issues to improve the stability of MacBook Pro computers,” said Apple.
A link to the Firmware Restoration CD v1.7 has also been updated.
