Mac users have many choices when it comes to Web browsers, as our recent browser round-up illustrated. Yet, Safari remains a popular choice for Mac users, and in this Macworld Video, I share a couple of tips about OS X’s built-in browser.
In this video, I talk about printing text boxes that have been resized using that new capability in Safari 3. I also show you how to create a one-key find shortcut. And I wrap up the video by showing you how to run a “newer” version of Safari, by updating to the latest version of WebKit, which is Safari’s rendering engine.

You can get the latest version of WebKit at the WebKit home page. The test I run during the video is available at the Acid3 test page.
In my one-key find shortcut tip, I used a couple of Terminal commands. In case you can’t make them out in the video, here they are.
To set the shortcut key to /, type:
defaults write com.apple.safari NSUserKeyEquivalents -dict-add Find... /
And to set that key back to Command-F, type:
defaults write com.apple.safari NSUserKeyEquivalents -dict-add Find... @f
