German-based music software-maker, Ableton, has released four new sampled instrument collections for its Ableton Live digital audio workstation.
The collections represent the four areas of an orchestra: Strings, Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion. Each collection has been recorded in a number of velocities and articulations, using world-class musicians, engineers and producers, according to Ableton.
Instruments include violin, viola, cello, double bass, French horn, trombone, trumpet, tuba, flute, clarinet, bassoon, oboe, English horn, vibraphone, marimba, xylophone, crotales, glockenspiel, tubular bells, cymbals and timpani.
The orchestra collections integrate into the Ableton Live environment and use a technology called SmartPriming to manage system resources efficiently.
The collections are available separately or can be purchased together. Pricing is Orchestral Instruments Collection ($599), Orchestral Strings ($189), Orchestral Brass ($189), Orchestral Woodwinds ($189) and Orchestral Percussion ($159).
