Eye-Fi on Monday announced the expansion of their product line up to include a new memory cards that add geolocation tags, simplify sharing online and to share files at home. All of the new products are Mac and PC-compatible.
The original Eye-Fi is a 2GB memory card designed to be used in an SD card-compatible digital camera. It connects to a Wi-Fi network and enables your digital camera to upload images directly over the network without needing to be tethered to a computer.
Eye-Fi Explore, coming for $129, includes 2GB of storage capacity. The card automatically locates nearby Wi-Fi networks and adds geo location tags through Skyhook’s positioning system. Skyhook is the same service that provides location information to the iPhone through its Google Maps feature.
Eye-Fi Share, priced at $99, is a rebadged version of the original Eye-Fi product, providing 2GB of storage and the ability to connect to a Wi-Fi network and upload files to a photo sharing, social networking or blogging site.
The new Eye-Fi Home, priced at $79, lets you upload files from your digital camera to your Mac or PC using Wi-Fi instead of USB. It also contains 2GB storage capacity.
