Maintain has released Cocktail 4.1.1 (Leopard Edition), a maintenance update to its popular general purpose utility for Mac OS X. A free update, Cocktail costs $14.95 to register.
Cocktail puts an easy-to-use graphical interface on many of the Unix tools that you’d otherwise have to muck about with the command line interface in order to access. It’s helpful for running diagnostic utilities or repairing hard disk structures, doing system analysis, performing various file maintenance functions, networking, interface tweaks and more.
The new Cocktail 4.1.1 release fixes a bug that caused Mac OS X 10.5.3 to freeze during clearing of the system caches. It also addresses a compatibility issue with Automator 2.0.1. Maintain recommends Cocktail 4.1.1 for all users of Cocktail (Leopard Edition).
Maintain also has Cocktail 4.0.2 (Tiger Edition) and Cocktail 3.7 (Panther Edition) for users of older operating systems.
