Both speaker systems sport built-in iPod docks that enable you to listen to music on your iPod and recharge its battery, but they also attach directly to your computer, so you can use the speakers to hear music, games and other media content played back on your Mac or PC instead.
Both speaker systems share some common traits — they feature “Reson8” speaker chambers, a sync switch that enables you to synchronize the contents of your iPod to the computer, separate volume controls and a headphone jack if you prefer private listening. They also include wireless remote controls and SRS “WOW” sound enhancement technology.
iHome’s Web site had not been updated with information on the new speakers as Macworld posted this article.
