Aspyr Media on Tuesday announced that it is delaying its Macintosh release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Aspyr announced plans to publish a Macintosh version of the first-person action game in January, and said at the time that it would release the game in May. It’s characterizing the delay as “pushed back slightly.”
“Aspyr Studios has chosen to continue to spend more time in development with the title in order to ensure a high-quality gaming experience for Mac gamers,” reads a statement offered by Aspyr.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the first version of the storied military action game franchise to be set in modern days. Past installments have featured World War II-era gameplay. In COD4, you assume the role of a contemporary infantry soldier utilizing modern-day weapons as you play through a new single-player storyline and a cross-platform multiplayer mode. The game is already available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Windows and Nintendo DS.
