Basilisk Games on Tuesday announced that they’re working on Eschalon: Book II, a sequel to their 2007 role playing game for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux operating systems. The company expects to release Book II in the second calendar quarter of 2009.
Book II continues the storyline from the first game, an “old school” single-player role playing game cut from the same cloth as Ultima and Wizardry. It’s a tile-built game world with turn-based gameplay.
The developer claims that no previous experience will be necessary to play Eschalon Book II, which will feature a story spread across three regions and a series of quests and adventures interlinked by your character’s actions.
Eschalon: Book II utilizes an updated game engine, new graphic elements, tiles, sound effects and music, new weather effects, the ability to play either as a male or female character, enhanced user interface, new difficulty modes and challenges.
