Adobe Systems announced Thursday that since its April release, the company’s new Media Player software — available for Mac OS X and Windows — now features 15,000 pieces of content with more than 400 shows from major broadcasters and content publishers.
Adobe media Player, built using Adobe Interactive Runtime (AIR) technology, lets viewers watch video content encoded in the FLV format. It supports High Definition (HD) video encoded at up to 1080i, and provides the ability to watch content stored locally and streamed over the Internet.
Adobe counts MTV’s The Hills and MTV Cribs, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, and expanded content from CBS among the shows available to watch using Media Player.
