DataMind Srl has announced the release of Jade Plugin, designed to work with Apple’s Aperture software. The plug-in is available in Standard and Pro licenses for €19.99 and €49.99 respectively (US$31.73 and $79.35).
Jade started life as a standalone application for Mac OS X and, more recently, Windows. It provides algorithms and parameters for enhancing the color, contrast and dynamic range of digital photographs using a simple interface that lets users click a button to save the result. It also features fine-tuning capabilities that let you adjust intensity values, image contrast and color correction for unbalanced images.
The Jade plug-in operates the same as the application, but works as a plug-in for Aperture 2.1 or later, enabling users of Apple’s higher end photo manipulation and cataloging software to make advanced changes to their images without having to resort to an external editing application.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.5 or later, Aperture 2.1 or later and 5MB hard disk space.
A discount is available for users who have already bought the application.
DataMind explains that the difference between the Standard and Pro licenses is based on the user’s planned use — the Standard license is intended for home users, while the Pro license is intended for photographic professionals.
