Mark/Space has announced the release of the Missing Sync for Symbian. The software enables Macs to synchronize data with smartphones that use the Symbian operating system. It costs $39.95. The software is expected to be released at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (1:00 PM Eastern Time).
The Missing Sync for Symbian features “Proximity Sync,” a new technology that lets Bluetooth-equipped Symbian phones automatically sync data when it’s close to the Mac, without needing to be tethered through USB.
The software makes sure your contact, calendar, event and task information is the same on your phone as on your Mac. It also lets you manage MP3 files, images and documents.
The Missing Sync for Symbian will also archive your phone’s text messages and call log on your Mac, lets you search your SMS archive and more.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later and native Bluetooth support. It’s compatible with most mobile phones from Nokia running Symbian S60 (3rd Rev or later) and phones from Sony Ericsson and Motorola running Symbian UIQ 3.0 or later.
