Purgatory Design has released version 3 of their drawing application for the Mac, Intaglio. A free upgrade for all standard users, Intaglio costs $89.
Intaglio can convert ClarisDraw and MacDraw II/Pro images; it also converts between many different file formats like PICT, PDF, EPS, SVG, JPEG, PNG and TIFF. It features CoreImage filters, scale and dimension tools, full support for AppleScript, text manipulation capabilities, pen tools, compound path operations and more.
New to the 3.0 release is an improved drag-and-drop library that lets users reuse and share drawing elements; improved arrows; a new star/flower creation tool; the ability to edit within a group without destroying the group; texture paint objects for graphic fills and effect sources; background color support for text blocks; support for stroke width and effects scaling when resizing graphics; grid printing; millimeter support for stroke width; QuickLook plug-in support (for Leopard users), graphics hardware acceleration; German localization and other miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements.
The upgrade costs $39 if you purchased Intaglio as part of a bundle.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.2 or later. Intaglio is a Universal binary.
