XChange International released OpenNow Pro, Bookletizer and MediaBoxXT XTensions for QuarkXPress 8.
OpenNow acts a bridge between QuarkXPress and image applications, allowing users to open any Quark document image with the application they choose.
Using OpenNow users can also view detailed picture information including all image settings, from color model to effective resolution to the image’s full path. You can choose from a variety of image applications on your hard drive and you can lock in your choice, so all subsequent images will use that application.
OpenNow allows you to show the image in the Finder, update the image after it has been modified outside of QuarkXPress, change the preview resolution from high to low or vice-versa, and open the Picture Usage window to search for missing pictures.
Mac OS X 10.4.2 or later and QuarkXPress 8.
When it’s time to output a saddle stitched publication in QuarkXPress, the document needs to be rearranged into printer’s spreads format. Bookletizer does this task automatically.
Bookletizer also lets users convert their document back to reader’sspreads just as easily, so they can edit their document while viewing it theway the reader will, according to the company.
Bookletizer for QuarkXPress 8 will be available “soon” the company said.
The final XTension released by XChange is MediaBoxXT, a tool to create PDF files with QuarkXPress and Acrobat Distiller. The MediaBoxXT panel will show up under the “Print Styles” menu after installation.
MediaBoxXTis not available yet, but will be soon, according to XChange.
