Premiere Radio Networks on Wednesday announced the launch of a new syndicated radio show called “The iTunes Download.” The three-hour weekend music countdown show will feature the 30 most downloaded songs in America, as featured on Apple’s iTunes Store.
Hosted by Alex Luke, iTunes’ director of music programming, the show will debut on Top 40 radio stations nationwide. The show originates in Los Angeles, Calif., where Luke will interview high-profile music artists. The iTunes Download will also feature a “celebrity playlist” and iMixes created by iTunes Store listeners. The show will be broadcast on Saturdays or Sundays.
Premiere Radio Networks is a subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications. The company syndicates 90 radio programs and services to more than 5,000 affiliates nationwide.
