Apple will expand its retail reach this coming weekend by opening five more Apple Stores, including its first retail outlet in Northern Ireland.
The Belfast Apple Store opens Saturday, September 20 at the Victoria Square shopping center. The Belfast store will be Apple’s 18th retail outlet in the United Kingdom.
Four other Apple Stores will open on the other side of the Atlantic on Saturday. Apple also plans openings in Lancaster, Pa., Colorado Springs, Colo., Escondido, Calif., and San Mateo, Calif.. The Lancaster store will open at 9 a.m. local time; the other three will open at 10.
With the addition of Apple Stores at Lancaster’s Park City Center and Colorado Springs’ Promenade Shops at Briargate, Apple now has six outlets each in Pennsylvania and Colorado. The Escondido and San Mateo openings give Apple 42 stores in California.
Apple ended its fiscal third quarter in June with 216 stores. The company expects to have 242 Apple Stores open by the end of September. Last weekend alone, Apple opened stores in Maine, New Jersey, and Ohio.
It’s easy to see why Apple is aggressively expanding its retail reach. In the June quarter, the retail stores produced $1.44 billion in revenue for the company.
