You Software has announced the release of You Control: Desktops 1.3, a new version of their “virtual desktop manager” for Mac OS X. It costs $29.95, though upgrades from previous releases are free.
Like Leopard’s Spaces feature, You Control: Desktop lets you build virtual desktops that you can use to spread out your work beyond the physical limits of your Mac’s screen. Unlike Spaces, You Control: Desktops works with Tiger, and offers additional features, such as customizable workspaces.
You Control: Desktops 1.3 adds support for Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard.” Other new features include improved options for controlling mouse edge switching behavior, improved control over cursor behavior after switching desktops, a new option for setting high color of the active desktop in the menu bar, and a new Quartz Extreme-based transition effect.
A 15-day demo version is available for download.
