Frameline 47 version 3 is now available. The video asset management software for Mac OS X costs $139, and a 14-day trial version is available for download.
Frameline 47 lets you catalog and repurpose video for multiple projects. The software leverages MPEG-7, a multimedia content description standard designed to accompany video (not a video encoding standard, like MPEG-4). It gives you access to every file, clip and frame of video. You can use Frameline to sort and export files, edit those files into clips and describe them, find them later and export them, capture them from tape or streams, and view them.
New to 3.0 is a rebuilt database system and updated user interface. Bonjour, Apple’s zero-configuration networking technology, is now supported, along with video capture, HTML archiving, favorites and playlists, and other new features.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4 or later. Intel-based systems are recommended.
