FracturedSoftware on Thursday announced the release of Rondo 2.8, a free update to the MIDI player software for Mac OS X. Rondo costs $25.
Using Rondo, you can play MIDI music files. It’s designed to help non-score reading musicians to follow music as it plays by using a horizontal live-playing piano layout. Features include a track filter, a simplified interface, play, pause, fast forward and rewind controls, the ability to jump to a specific bar or section and play through an external sound module or keyboard.
Rondo 2.8 has a number of user interface improvements. A help file has also been integrated, and users can now specify the absolute rate at which a MIDI file plays.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
