IDG World Expo has announced that vice president and general manager Paul Kent has received a Show Manager of the Year award by The Expo Group. Kent’s duties include running Macworld Conference & Expo.
The Expo Group awards the Show Manager of the Year (SMOTY) to event managers who demonstrate innovative event ractices, a strong customer service philosophy, commitment to success and the ability to overcome challenges.
Kent is one of five winners of the SMOTY awards for 2008. An award dinner will be held on Noember 6, 2008 at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Md. As part of his award, Kent receives a $1,000 donation to the charity of his choice — he has selected the general scholarship fund of Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, Calif.
