FileWave has announced the release of FileWave 3.6, its eponymous software management suite for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux workstations.
FileWave enables enterprise IT managers to distribute and manage software across multiple platforms. You can distribute ready-to-use apps, run installers locally on each machine, create customized install packages, keep software up to date by applying patches, modify individual files, and roll back application changes in the event of unintended problems.
The new 3.6 release has “significant performance enhancements,” according to FileWave. New features include an “All Users” folder that enables the administrator to deliver files to every user account on each computer. Users can also reinstall Filesets, Patch Installers or Executables using a new Reactivate Filesets feature.
System requirements for the FileWave client software call for Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, 256MB RAM, 5MB hard disk space.
