Ever since Apple launched its $100-a-year .Mac (now MobileMe) online service, it’s had the annoying habit of creating tight integration between its software and that add-on service. Leaving people who choose not to pay that annual fee to fend for themselves.
As I wrote Thursday, Easy iWeb Publisher 3.0 (
) is a nifty (and free, though a donation is requested) utility that makes it easy to upload iWeb sites to non-Apple web servers with a couple of clicks. I used it when the teachers at my daughter’s school needed a simple tool to upload iWeb sites to the school web site, and it works like a charm.Want to see it in action? I’ve created a short video that demonstrates how Easy iWeb Publisher works, from exporting a site from iWeb to uploading it to a Web server.
