As we prepare to close up shop until Boxing Day, we’d be remiss if we didn’t pass along a tip eagle-eyed reader Doug Lynch, who notes that appstoreapps.com has compiled a list of 40-plus apps that have gone on sale at the App Store. And not just any sale—these are apps that used to cost a fee to download but that are now available for the low, low price of free.
A healthy segment of the 42 apps appear to be holiday-themed, should you be looking for ways to entertain guests at your Christmas gatherings Thursday. But other members of the now-available-for-free club come from a cross-section of genres, such as the outstanding game Topple.
At any rate, the appstoreapps list appears to be a good place to start finding no-cost apps, should a new iPhone or iPod touch find its way under your tree Thursday.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of Macworld.com’s readers.
