Xsilva Systems has announced that it is previewing and demonstrating LightSpeed 3.0 at Macworld Expo in San Francisco this week. LightSpeed is the company’s Point of Sale (POS) system designed to run on the Mac.
LightSpeed incorporates front-counter retail and back-office functions like inventory management, order processing and billing, all in a Mac-native interface that is familiar to users of Apple’s iApps.
The new 3.0 version is in development and is expected to be released in the spring of 2009. New features include a new point-of-sale screen, new features for multi-store retailers and a major new release of Xsilva’s e-commerce system, Web Store 2.0.
The interface has been redesigned to increase transaction speed, and a “button mode” has been added to support more fast-paced sales environments. A sidebar can be configured for different types of retailers, and transactions can now be “parked.”
Improvements for multi-store configurations include product replication across multiple locations, cross-store gift cards and returns, and cross-store sales and inventory reports.
Xsilva can be found at booth 314 in the South Hall.
