Native Instruments updated its guitar amp modeling and effects software, Guitar Rig 3, adding several new features and fixing numerous bugs in the application. The company released the software as part of its presence at the NAMM music show being held this week in Anaheim, Calif.
There are several new features available in Guitar Rig 3.2 including the addition of an RTAS and Audio Unit mono plugin; a MIDI input filter has been added to the preferences tab; and the overall application size has been reduced.
The LE version of the software picked up a few extras with the update as well. With Guitar Rig 3.2 LE, Native Instruments added the Stomp Compressor, Bass Pro amp, and new soundbanks.
Several bug fixes with Guitar Rig have been made including the removal of a switching noise in Bass Pro; Stomp Compressor is now faster; external pedal settings are saved; Cabinet & Mics module now reacts correctly to snapshots; problems with the Twang Reverb amp with certain cabinets has been fixed; compatibility with Digital Performer 6 on PPC with OS X 10.5.x has been addressed; and some minor improvements for RTAS ProTools 7.4/8.0 have been made.
Guitar Rig 3.2 is a free update for registered users and can be downloaded from the Native Instruments Web site. For new users there are several versions of the company’s guitar line available.
