Northwestern University will soon offer content through iTunes U, the Apple service that makes college material available to users through iTunes.
Beginning Feb. 17, 2009, videos of fine arts performances, news, lectures and events from Northwester will be available for free on iTunes U. More than 250 video and audio files will be available for free.
Northwestern’s iTunes U area will include five “channels” — News, On Campus, Arts, Alumni and Academics and Research. News and other programs created by Northwestern for viewing on the Big Ten Network will also appear on iTunes U.
Dozens of universities and colleges participate in iTunes U, making course material, videos of cultural and sporting events and other content available online, mostly to the general public, at no charge. The site also features educational content from American Public Media and Public Radio International.
