Canon U.S.A. on Monday announced its ImageClass D1100 series desktop black and white printers. The four new devices are going on sale in April. The D1120, D1150, D1170 and D1180 will cost $600, $700, $900 and $1000 respectively.
The new Imageclass D1100 line is aimed at workgroups, small businesses and home offices looking for desktop copier/printers. All of the new devices share some common traits: Duplex print and copy speeds of up to 30 pages per minute (ppm), and first print and copy pages in eight seconds. A 500-sheet front loading paper cassette and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray come standard, and each can copy and scan double-sided pages of up to 8.5 x 14 inches from the duplex automatic document feeder, or directly on the glass. Each device also features a USB 2.0 port and Ethernet ports and are Mac and PC-compatible.
The D1150, D1170 and D1180 feature 33.6 Kbps Super G3 fax capabilities and network PC faxing. The D1170 and D1180 add the ability to send documents through e-mail, SMB and USB memory, and the D1180 adds PCL 5e/6 support.
An optional 500-sheet cassette tray is available for $200.
