Managing Editor has announced the release of Page Director Ad Layout System (ALS) 5.4, a new version of their software to automate the page-planning workflow of publications. It’s a free upgrade for users on MEI’s Premium Site Support Agreement program.
ALS is designed for publications that use Adobe Creative Suite 4 (QuarkXPress 8 support is coming soon) to manage their ad layout. You can create ad dummies that can be opened in Adobe Indesign, create ad stacks according to page gravity and view reports. ALS helps you flow in ads all at once, drag ads out of runsheets individually and more.
New to the 5.4 release is a new print designer that lets you design and print custom ad dummies. The update now includes ALS XT for QuarkXPress 7, and a new version of MEI’s AdImport plug-in that is compatible with Adobe InDesign CS2, CS3 and CS4.
The 5.4 release also provides connectivity with MEI’s Integrated Production Suite (IPS) 4.5, a software package that helps publishers plan display and classified ads with editorial content.
System requirements call for a G4 or better, Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later, 512MB RAM, QuarkXPress 6.5 – 7.x, and InDesign CS2-CS4.
