FileMaker on Wednesday announced the release of two updated versions of its FileMaker Business Productivity Kit. Both are available for free with the download of a trial version of FileMaker Pro 10, the latest major release of the company’s eponymous database software for Mac OS X and Windows.
FileMaker Pro is the legendary database app that helps users and businesses manage information and share it. Its latest evolution sports dynamic summary reports with editable data, the ability to send e-mails from within the app, integrated debugging tools, script triggers that add flexibility for developers and other useful features.
The FileMaker Business Productivity Kits are designed to help businesses that depend on FileMaker pro to get up and running with the software immediately. The Standard Edition kit was developed to help businesses selling goods, while the Services Edition kit was created for business providing services.
The Standard Edition kit includes the ability to manage contacts and suppliers; organize products and inventory; process sales orders; track projects and production; and send targeted e-mail campaigns.
The Service Edition lets you manage vendor contacts and clients, process service orders, organize info on service offerings, manage invoices and other business data, and send targeted e-mail campaigns.
Both kits have been updated and redesigned to take advantage of new features in FileMaker Pro 10. They also include an integrated Web Viewer that lets you view database records live on the Web.
FileMaker is also now including an updated E-mail Marketing Guide, designed to help small business users coordinate e-mail campaigns using FileMaker Pro 10 and FileMaker Business Productivity Kits.
System requirements call for G4 or better (including Intel), Mac OS X 10.4.11 or Mac OS X 10.5 or later, 256MB RAM.
