Eltima Software on Wednesday introduced Flash’in’App 2.0, a new version of its programming tool that helps developers load and manage Flash movies within Mac applications. A single developer license costs $400.
Flash’in’App is a framework for Cocoa, Apple’s Application Programming Interface (API) to develop Mac OS X apps. The framework contains a set of classes that provide apps with the ability to load, play and manage SWF files within the application. Apps can, in turn, communicate with SWF files using an external API, FSCommands and Variables.
Flash’in’App enables Mac OS X applications to handle all the media files that Flash can, with custom-designed windows and even running Windows Flash-enabled apps. New options in the 2.0 release allow developers to set background color, to specify scaling when playing a Flash movie, set vertical and horizontal movie alignment, and set root level variables to pass to Flash player.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4 and Flash Player 8 or later. A demo is available.
