PopChar X, Ergonis’ Software for finding and inserting special characters into your text, has been updated to version 4.2. It’s a free update for anyone who’s purchased PopChar X in the last two years. The single user license fee is about $39.
PopChar X helps you find and insert special characters into applications — making it unnecessary to memorize complicated key sequences need to invoke extended ASCII or Unicode characters. The PopChar window appears, you click on the desired character, and it’s inserted into your current document.
The new release features “reverse searching” — you can search for fonts that contain special character. You can mark all fonts that contain a desired character, the jump directly that marked character in the font you want.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4 or later, though 10.5 is recommended. A trial copy is available.
