Truphone has introduced Truphone 3.0, described as a major update of the free Apple iPhone software application specifically for iPod touch users.
Truphone is a mobile Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) application that routes calls across the Internet. Calls are free to other Truphone users and those with Skype and Google Talk via Wi-Fi, while calls to destinations worldwide are offered at competitive prices, according to the company.
Improvements in Truphone 3.0 for iPod touch include increased ease of use, speed of function response, intuitiveness and simplicity. Audio has been improved along with an enhanced integrated messaging tool that unifies all IM communities in a single place.
The list of new features follow an update in April, when Truphone released Truphone 3.0 for iPhone, which offers a similar range of enhancements and tweaks.
Truphone 3.0 for the iPod touch requires a suitable microphone or headset to make and receive calls, such as the Truphone Microphone Adaptor for iPod touch which was also introduced in April.
