With less than one week to go, the anticipation and excitement for WWDC 2009 is in full swing. From new iPhones in varying capacities to the fabled Apple tablet, the past few weeks have seen the resurfacing of several fantastic and oft-circulated rumors about what the company plans to introduce this coming Monday.
Whether or not you choose to partake in the rumormongering, you’ll be delighted to know that the preparations for the upcoming event are under way at the Moscone West conference hall in San Francisco. The all-too-familiar Apple logo has been plastered across the front of the building and several banners are being unfurled even as you read this.
So far, the only one that has come to light (pictured above, courtesy Adam Jackson) boasts of the grand success of the App Store. If Apple is to be believed, it’s only “one year later” and we’re already “light-years ahead.” See, there’s that ol’ humility and modesty that Apple is so well known for.
As the eighth of June draws closer, we expect more such banners to be snapped by enthusiastic photographers and curious passersby alike. We’ll be on the lookout, but don’t expect anything major to be revealed—as for as maintaining secrecy goes, Apple is pretty good at keeping the cat safely in the bag.
