Western Digital (WD) on Tuesday announced the new My Book Studio Edition II external hard drive in a four terabyte (TB) capacity. It’s available now for $650.
The internal hard drive have been configured from the factory as a RAID Level 0 array; the drives are WD GreenPower models, designed to use less energy than standard drives.
Automatic and continuous backup software is included, and the drive is compatible with Leopard’s Time Machine capability as well. A capacity gauge is built into the drive to show you how much space is left. The enclosure is also user-serviceable, so in the event of a drive failure, you can replace it if need be.
