RealVNC has announced the release of VNC Enterprise Edition 4.5. It’s priced at $50 for a single VNC Server license.
Virtual Network Computing (VNC) enables system administrators, network managers and others to share the desktops of remote computers for tech support, monitoring and other functions. VNC Enterprise Edition is especially aimed at corporate and large-scale computing environments that require secure remote control capabilities. It features multiple, configurable security capabilities and sports full tech support and maintenance.
The new 4.5 release adds cross-platform remote printing, enabling the user to print documents from the remote computer to the computer running VNC Viewer. Also new in this release is cross-platform chat. Users can now be notified of incoming connections, and no-English/U.S. keyboard handling has been improved, as has support of international characters. That support includes file names that contain international characters.
VNC Enterprise Edition 4.5 supports Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX and various flavors of Windows up to and including Windows 7.
Support for the Mac version of VNC Enterprise Edition calls for Mac OS X 10.4 or later. It is a Universal binary.
