An action puzzle game from Taito, WaterWays puts you in the role of a cow named Patch. Patch must navigate a series of water-filled mazes and drawbridges to reach and repair leaking valves in the water system. The game uses motion sensors for play. It costs $3.
Prey Invasion
Hands-On Mobile has released Prey Invasion for $3. It’s a first-person shooter based on the PC and Mac game “Prey,” featuring Tommy Hawk, a modern-day Cherokee warrior who has to repel an alien invasion force. The game features digital and analog control schemes and “TapShot” gameplay.
Flick-a-Pop
Who doesn’t love Dum Dum Pops? The little lollipops have long been a favorite with kids as rewards at the doctor’s office, after school treats and Halloween candy. Now Spangler Candy has gotten into the iPhone app racket with Flick-a-Pop, a free promotional game app for Dum Dum Pops fans.
Gamesmith Studios offers eight games
Gamesmith Studios is making a splash on the App store with the simultaneous release of eight new game titles for the iPhone and iPod touch, including a 3D Tic-Tac-Toe game, a casual block puzzle game, a 3D adventure game, and more.
Barney in Chocoland
Barney is a pot-bellied kid who has landed in Chocoland, his fantasy world — it’s raining chocolate and he has to get as much as he can, then insert them into barrels. There are power-ups as well as a bad guy — Coco — who wants to steal the chocolates from Barney. Barney in Chocoland costs $1.
Transformers CyberToy
To tie in to the new movie, Transformers CyberToy is a $1 entertainment app for the iPhone and iPod touch that lets you touch, swipe and drag Bumblebee to change him from vehicle mode to robot and back again. Future updates will include more Autobots and Decepticons, according to the developer.
Verminator
Artificial Life has released Verminator, in which you’re tasked with killing virtual cockroaches encroaching on your iPhone. For $1, you play through 10 stages of extermination tasks, killing cockroaches from eggs to adults, using the touch screen and accelerometer. You even get to choose the method of death, ranging from simple squishing to dissection. Gross. Fun, but gross.
Jukebox
Jukebox is a music quiz for your iPhone or iPod touch. It challenges you to see how quickly you can identify the songs in your music collection, keeps track of how well you know your music, and lets you compare your score with others in a World Ranking. It costs $1.
A Business Tycoon
A Business Tycoon lets you try to make money by buying assets when they’re at rock bottom, then selling them when they’re sky-high.
Penguin Invasion
Frogames’ debut on the App Store is Penguin Invasion, a new arcade action game in which you must help humanity against an invasion of penguins throwing exploding fish. The $1 game features online scores, achievements and increasing difficulty levels.
