Startly Technologies has announced the release of QuicKeys 4 for Mac OS X, a new version of the popular productivity software originally developed by CE Software. It costs $60. Upgrades cost $30.
QuicKeys 4 helps you automate common tasks using “Abbreviations” and “Shortcuts.” Typing text, opening an application, clicking a button or making a menu selection are all examples of things you can automate using QuicKeys.
The new release introduces Abbreviations, which help you type faster in documents. A new QuicKeys Online service has been introduced that offers users an searchable shortcut gallery and tutorials. Also new is a Batch Processor, which automates the editing of multiple files at once; Web Actions, for controlling Web sites and Web applications inside of Safari; “Instant Shortcuts” for quick, temporary recording of actions; MIDI triggers that can be initiated using musical instruments or equipment; and more.
Startly will also introduce QuicKeys Anywhere, a companion remote control application for the iPhone and iPod touch.
System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.5 or later.
