Dymo has announced the LabelWriter 450 series of specialty label printers. They’re priced from $110 to $210.
LabelWriters make it easier to print address, shipping and file folder labels. They can also print postage (approved by the U.S. Postal Service). Other features include barcode printing and name badges. They work with the Mac or PC using USB 2.0, and output onto special rolls of labels using thermal printing technology. Software and drivers are included.
The basic $110 LabelWriter 450 model outputs at up to 51 labels per minute, while the $140 450 Turbo turns out 71 labels per minute. The $210 Twin Turbo holds two label rolls, so you can print out more labels (or labels and postage) without having to swap rolls. The Duo won’t be out until November, and pricing wasn’t announced, but that unit features the ability to print paper and plastic labels.
