Smart Technologies on Wednesday announced the release of Smart Notebook SE (Student Edition) for the Mac. It’s priced at $35 per student, and $49 per student for the USB bracelet, which includes the software.
Smart Notebook SE was developed to accompany Smart Board interactive whiteboards, used in K-12 classroom environments — tools that help teachers present interactive multimedia presentations. Smart Notebook is the software that teachers use to create lessons and deliver them in the classroom. Smart Notebook SE provides students with tools that help them organize and collect information presented in Smart Board sessions.
Smart Notebook SE features “My Binder,” which helps students organize their schedule and assignments; “My Home,” which lets them personalize their software with their own photos and images; “Tag clouds,” which lets students find keywords in Web 2.0 tag clouds; “Smart Notebook Gallery,” which includes copyright-cleared images and media files that can be used in reports; and more.
Smart Notebook SE debuted for Windows PCs in October, 2008. This marks the Mac version’s debut. It is localized in English, French, German, and Spanish.
System requirements call for a G4/1GHz or faster (including Intel), 512MB RAM, 250MB hard disk space, Mac OS X 10.5.4 or later. Safari 1.3.2 and Adobe Flash Player 10 are also required.
