Lexmark International on Tuesday announced the release of a total of eight new all-in-one inkjet devices for small businesses and home offices, priced from $99 to $399. All of the new printers should be available now at participating retailers.
New Professional models
Four new models have been added to the Professional series: The Platinum, Prestige, Prevail and Prospect, priced at $399, $299, $199 and $169 respectively. All feature 48-bit CIS scanners and can print at up to 33 pages per minute in black, 30 pages per minute in color.
Both the Platinum and Prestige feature a 4.3-inch Web-enables touchscreen interface that lets you create customized one-touch “SmartSolutions” to handle common tasks like scanning to e-mail, viewing photo-sharing sites and more. The Prestige has the same print speed, two-sided output and 802.11n Wi-Fi support as the Platinum, but eschews fax capability and a second paper tray.
The Prevail retains 802.11n Wi-Fi capability, but doesn’t have the 4.3-inch “SmartSolutions” interface. And the Prospect has a smaller ADF and more limited paper input, trading 802.11n Wi-Fi for 802.11g instead.
New Home Office all-in-ones
The Home Office series adds four new all-in-one models: the Interact, Intuition, Interpret, and Impact, priced at $199, $149, $129 and $99 respectively. Like the Professional models, they produce up to 33 ppm black and 30 ppm color output; like the Professional models, they also accept Lexmark’s new “XL” sized cartridges, which cost as little as $5 per unit for black ink.
The Interact copies, prints, and scans, and features a 4.3-inch Web-enables “SmartSolutions” touch screen, card slots and PictBridge compatibility. Like the high-end Professional models, the Interact also has 802.11n Wi-Fi. It handles two-sided output and can hold up to 100 pages at a time.
The Intuition has a 2.4-inch color LCD display, card slots and PictBridge support, along with 802.11g Wi-Fi support and a USB 2.0 port. The Impact, Lexmark’s newest least-expensive business printer, has USB 2.0 and 802.11g Wi-Fi, along with PictBridge and card slots.
The Interpret is the only fax-enabled Home Office all-in-one model. It sports a 35 page ADF and 100 page paper tray, and communicates using USB 2.0 and 802.11g Wi-Fi.
