Our Verdict
This dual-2.0 GHz Power Mac G5 is the bottom dual-processor model of the third round of Power Mac G5 models, which were introduced in late April 2005. Unlike previous dual-2GHz configurations, this one doesn’t have PCI-X slots and can only support 4 GB of RAM.
Like the other Power Mac updates released in April 2005, the dual-2GHz model has its merits and is a fine choice for anyone in the market for a Power Mac. It delivers 82 percent of the performance of the top-of-the-line Power Mac at two-thirds the price, but it lacks PCI-X slots and is limited to 4GB of RAM.
