Our Verdict
The iMac G5 is a computer completely built into a flat-panel monitor. This model, which has a 17-inch display and a 1.8GHz G5 processor, is the bottom of the second iteration of the iMac G5, introduced in early May 2005. It includes a base of 512MB of RAM and built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0.
No single change in the latest batch of iMac G5s is earthshaking, but together they add significant value to a series that was already quite appealing. If you’re on a tight budget, and if you have no interest in burning DVDs, this $1,299 model remains a real bargain.
