Our Verdict
When we reviewed TuneWear’s Prie Hook for full-size iPods, we liked the case both for it’s unique design and attractive appearance. (You can read our review of the full-size version at http://playlistmag.com/products/complete/126-detail.php.) However, although the Prie Hook for the iPod mini has a similar appearance, its functionality is significantly inferior.
A minor issue is that whereas the hook on the full-size Prie Hook case rotates freely, the hook on the mini version is stationary, which makes it more difficult to find a place to hang the case and get the desired orientation. But the bigger issue is that the hole on the top of the case, designed to provide access to the iPod mini’s headphone jack, is not positioned properly, making it difficult to connect headphones — in the case of certain headphones, nearly impossible. Because of this latter flaw, we can’t recommend the iPod mini version.–Dan Frakes
